This study explores women’s experiences of care in the emergency department during early pregnancy loss, including how prior Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) may shape their care needs and how those needs are recognised and responded to in practice. The aim is to inform more trauma-informed, woman-centred emergency care.
We are seeking women who:
- Experienced early pregnancy loss (before 13 weeks gestation) after 2011
- Were aged 18 years or older at the time of the loss
- Presented to a Queensland emergency department for care
- Have experienced one or more adverse childhood experiences
- Are willing to participate in a confidential interview
- Speak English
Women may skip questions or withdraw at any time, and support resources are provided.
