Your role in supporting and caring for your patients is significant, but sometimes, you may need support and care for your well-being. Burnout and fatigue – particularly compassion fatigue – is common amongst healthcare workers. There are a number of support services available which you may find helpful.
Since COVID-19: Please note that support services are currently experiencing a high volume of calls and you may be put on hold until the next available counsellor or volunteer is available.
If you are in a crisis situation, please call Lifeline (13 11 14), Beyond Blue (1300 224 636), or 000 immediately.
Sometimes you get fed up with seeing the same thing all the time and it’s hard for you to maintain your vigour… you have to remind yourself that it’s completely new for that person, even though you’ve seen it a hundred times.
